Student Course Progression Information
Overview
Students* studying with Strategix are required to maintain satisfactory course progress. Satisfactory course progress is a condition of enrolment, and for international students, also a condition of their student visa (8202 - Meet course requirements - Click here for Visa information).
At Strategix, we understand that everyone learns differently, and reasonable adjustments may be required (occasionally) to ensure that students are given the best chance at success.
To assist students in their learning journey, Strategix applies an Ongoing Student Progression Monitoring process. This helps Strategix identify and rectify any issues students may face throughout the duration of their course.
*This does not apply to any students undertaking the self-paced learning (online/distance) option set by a duration only.
What Is Satisfactory Course Progress?
For a student to be deemed as ‘satisfactory’ in their course progression, they must complete all learner and assessment activities required for their specific course by the end of the Unit of Study (UoS) or assessment due date.
Specific timeframes, deadlines and due dates vary depending on the course and course structure. This information can usually be found on the following:

How is my Course Progression Determined?
Throughout the Ongoing Progression Monitoring process, your current course progression will be assessed. Your course progression is determined by your attendance rates and unit completion rates. This assessment may result in you achieving or failing to meet your courses progression requirements. Please see below an explanation on what this means for you.
Achieving Course Progression
If you are achieving your course progression requirements, no further actions will be undertaken/required.
Not Achieving (At-Risk) Course Progression
If you fail to meet your course progression requirements, your course progression status will be deemed ‘At-Risk’. There are two types of risk ratings a student may receive. An explanation on the two risk ratings is outlined below.
Risk Rating | Description |
|---|---|
Low Risk | Majority of Assessment activities completed and are able to catch up during breaks or subsequent UoS. |
High Risk | Incomplete assessment, unable to be caught up in subsequent UoS. For example, when a student has not demonstrated competency in fifty percent (50%) or more of enrolled subjects in one (1) unit of study. |
What happens if I am deemed as an ‘At-Risk’ Student?
Low-Risk
Low-Risk students receive a Progression Support email from their trainer/assessor notifying them of their outstanding assessments. This email will outline what is required from the student in order to complete the assessments and what the expected timeframe will be.
High-Risk
High-Risk students receive a Progression Meeting Request email inviting them to a meeting to discuss the reasoning behind their failure to meet the student progress requirements and to either implement a Progression Plan or discuss the possibility of suspension.
International Students
If an international student is deemed ‘At-Risk’, you will receive additional correspondence from Strategix.
What happens if I fail to meet the requirements outlined by my trainer/assessor or Progression Plan?
High-risk students who fail to follow the Progression Plan and meet any requirements outlined in the meeting (for two consecutive units of study) are deemed as Unsatisfactory in their course progress. This results in the student being suspended from their enrolment and for international students, is a breach of their visa conditions and will be issued a Notice of Intention to Report.
What happens if I successfully meet the requirements outlined by my trainer/assessor or Progression Plan?
If a student successfully meets their Progression Plan requirements, they will be deemed as Satisfactory in their course progression and will no longer be ‘At-Risk’.
Exceptional Circumstances
Throughout the duration of your course with Strategix, you may be impacted by exceptional circumstances that may affect your ability to perform your course responsibilities and requirements.
Exceptional circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
Compassionate or compelling grounds, for example, but not limited to:
Serious illness or injury with a medical certificate produced
Immediate family illness or bereavement again with documentation produced
Natural disaster
Mental trauma
Being the victim of a serious crime.
Due to a Progression Plan
An approved deferral or suspension
Credit Transfer and/or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
