Policy:

Strategix may apply full exemption from the student contribution fee for User Choice participants where payment of the student contribution fee would cause extreme financial hardship. The fee waiver process is in place at the time of the participant’s enrolment.

Included in this procedure is the process to manage an appeal about the outcome of an application under financial hardship.

Identify Upon Enrolment

The Tentative Enrolment email contains the information for the applicant and the link to the form.

Complete Form

The applicant must complete the required fields in the form and obtain evidence to support the request. The applicant will send the form to compliance to be reviewed.

Application Assessed

When received, the compliance manager assesses the application and determines if sufficient evidence has been submitted to support the claim. If further evidence is required the applicant is provided the opportunity to obtain further evidence.

Once the application and all evidence has been provided and assessed, the compliance manager works with the student to see what options are available to the student in order to lessen the impact of the fee.

When required management may be included in the assessment process in order to provide a second judgement on the application. The Assessment process must be documented against the students file.


Application Approved

If there is no options for the applicant to take in order to be able to pay the contribution without financial hardship, the applicant will not be required to charge the contribution fee. The process and outcome is to be evidenced and recoded in aXcelerate and the administrative assistant is notified of the outcome.

Application Denied

If upon assessment the options are appropriate to lessen the impact the contribution has on the applicant or it is discovered the applicant is not under financial hardship, the application is to be denied. The applicant is to be notified and given the option to appeal.

If they chose to appeal, the applicant has the opportunity to provide additional evidence and/or other options which can lesion the impact. They are taken through the application assessment stage once again.

The process and outcome is to be evidenced and recoded in aXcelerate and the administrative assistant is notified of the outcome.

Update Funding Code

Once advised by compliance the student can continue to be enrolled as per the Student Enrolment Procedure. The funding source code is to be entered as “GS4” for Full exemption students.
